HIH Prince Estifanos Matewos
Ancestral Origins
Born on 25 December 1995 in Addis Ababa, Shewa, His Imperial Highness Prince Estifanos Matewos carries within him the living flame of Ethiopia’s history and divine heritage.
Shewa, land of the Amhara people, has long been the spiritual and political axis of the Ethiopian Empire, where faith and kingship intertwine. A direct descendant of Emperor Menelik II, the great architect of modern Ethiopia and scion of the Solomonic Dynasty, Prince Estifanos’s lineage reaches back through the ages to King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba (Makeda), forming an unbroken chain that links Ethiopia to the wisdom and glory of antiquity.
Within the Solomonic Dynasty that ruled Ethiopia for more than three millennia, he stands as the 229th descendant of King Solomon of the Tribe of Judah.
Through his grandmother, Princess Bedriya Shewarega Iyasu Mohamed Ali, granddaughter of King Mohammed Ali of Wollo, Prince Estifanos is the 40th descendant of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) through the noble Quraysh tribe. From this maternal line, his bloodline flows through Fatima and Al-Hussain ibn Ali (May Allah be pleased with them).
From this heritage, Prince Estifanos draws his sense of duty, vision, and purpose, answering the call to serve humanity, and to uplift people of Africa.
