Your Excellencies,

I am honoured to have been invited to participate in the 13th Global Baku Forum. I pray that Almighty Allah continues to bless and guide this important gathering.

Regrettably, due to the rapidly evolving security situation and the sudden disruptions to regional airspace, I have been compelled to revise my travel plans at very short notice and am therefore unable to attend.

I had greatly anticipated contributing my reflections, particularly regarding the critical intersections of justice, mediation, peace, and security. I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to His Excellency Ilham Aliyev for his gracious patronage, as well as the considerable efforts undertaken in facilitating my attendance.

The promotion of peace through dialogue and mediation, the strengthening of trust in our institutions, and the pursuit of inclusive and sustainable global solutions remain at the core of the work of my office, especially at this time of profound geopolitical uncertainty, which we pray, Insha’Allah, will pass swiftly.

Congratulations to the 2026 NGI Award laureates! May their contributions continue to inspire progress and understanding among nations. During this blessed season of Ramadan and Lent, I offer my sincere prayers for enduring peace and prosperity, and for all peoples affected by the unfolding tensions within the region and beyond. May Allah grant wisdom to those entrusted with leadership and bestow tranquillity upon His people. I pray that He guides our collective endeavours toward harmony, peace, and the shared prosperity of all nations.
